Sam grew up on a small hobby farm in Northern Virginia. She moved to Atlanta, GA, for college, where she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography. After a few years in the commercial photography industry, Sam felt the need to fulfill her passion for animals and science by becoming a veterinarian. She completed her post-baccalaureate studies at Georgia Tech and graduated from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 2017 (Go Dawgs!).
After several years at a busy practice in Atlanta, she and her family moved to the Asheville, NC, area. Sam is so happy to call this area home and enjoys all the great activities (and views) the mountains have to offer. She lives with her fabulous husband, Dan, their two kids, Olivia and Ben, and their golden retriever, Fig.
Sam enjoys hiking, camping, exercising, and reading when she’s not toting the kids to soccer or other activities. Her clinical interests include abdominal ultrasound, dental health, and preventive care.
Sam also holds a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Photography. Before becoming a veterinarian, Sam was a commercial photographer.
Sam was selected, and currently sits on the Board of Public Health for Henderson County.
